Who can take sanyas?

There are no particular rules about taking Sanyasa.

One must go through 4 Ashrams namely, Brahmacharya, Gruhasthu, Vanaprastha and Sanyasa.

However, anybody can take Sanyasa Ashram as per his convenience.

Sankara Charya took Sanyasa at the age of 8 i.e. directly he entered Sanyasa Ashram from Brahmacharya.
